As the year draws to a close, I can’t help but reflect on the last twelve months. The year of twenty thirteen has been one like no other. I’ve experienced the loss of both my parents and endured capsizing life changes in the recent years but it all falls pale in comparison to the journey of this passed year. The cuts were deep and the tears formed rivers but blessings came in abundance in the midst of the squall. I’ve been able to recognize the beauty in pains and struggles. There lies the greatest lessons and gifts of life. I am grateful for the cognizance. I am grateful for the altered perspective. I am grateful for the conduits God has placed in my life.
Everyday, I read/listen to the Word, for it has become food for my soul. [Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart]. I’ve come to learn that every answer to life resides within the Word. I am happy to have reached a different plateau of a strengthened faith. Spirituality is a priority in my life. God is placed first and foremost and it is He that I maintain keen awareness with. He has become my greatest example, it is not through man. I’ve allowed Him to excavate my soul, inside out and replenish my spirit in His glory. My heart is softened and humbled because of His unconditional love and His endless mercy [Quran 6:147 Limitless is your Lord in His mercy].
“Limitless is your Lord in His mercy
“Limitless is your Lord in His mercy
“Limitless is your Lord in His mercy. God inspires me to love more and forgive relentlessly. The Word is cleansing and renewing my soul through salvation. [Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me]. It is because I have surrendered to His work. I beg of Him to strip me down bare until you see nothing but Him, in me. I’ve allowed God to excavate and redecorate my soul. He has placed fresh seeds in me, that are nurtured daily and bloom placidly.
For the coming year, I will continue to listen. I will continue to take heed to His whispers. I will continue to keep Him near. I will continue to serve Him and praise His name. I will continue to remain open for His bestowals. I will continue to recognize and appreciate all of His blessings. I will continue to walk righteously and maintain reciprocity within our relationship. I will continue to strive to be one of His best representations.
I thank you, for your love and mercy. I thank you for the people you’ve placed in my life to serve your purpose. I thank you for my beautiful children (my soldiers) and their amazing father. I thank you for my health and the essentials to maintain it. I thank you for the countless blessings that are revealed in my daily life. I thank you for the capacity of growth. I thank you for finding me worthy of your love. I thank you for your favor. I thank you for the conglomerate of occurrences that have contributed toward my enlightenment. I thank you for life’s hardships, for they have reshaped me in strength and courage. [2 Cor 12:9-10 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.]
Lord, I ask that you continue to touch lives across the universe. I ask that you place your healing hands upon the broken souls. I ask that you fill the holes in all of the world. I ask that you protect and cloak your children with indestructible armor.
Please forgive those who turn their backs on you, for they know not what they do. Have mercy on us all. I bow before you in supplication, with intercessory intentions.
Heavenly Father, I pray to be the very essence of you. I pray to be stripped of all things, until we see nothing but YOU.
Thank you for such a profound year. I look forward to the next, trusting that you will continue to keep me equipped and encouraged.
