    Liza, the “crispy,” “crackle,” “crunchy” is very effective here. I’m not a big fan of alliteration in haiku, but it’s not intrusive here and underscores that Nature is slowing down and drying up as Winter approaches. Very nice.

      Part of my love for haiku, is the challenge within its limitations. It forces you to be mindful and particularly selective with your choice of words. I’m glad you found these words to be fitting, despite the alliteration. 🙂
